John Wilson is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in neurosurgery. Currently serving as the Interim Head and Professor at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, John Wilson also holds the position of Vice Chair in the Department of Neurosurgery and Co-Director of the Neuroscience Service Line. Previously, John Wilson was the President Elect of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons from April 2019 to May 2021 and served as Past Chair of the AANS CNS Cerebrovascular Section from May 2009 to May 2010, which focuses on the cerebrovascular aspects of organized neurosurgery. John Wilson earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Thomas Jefferson University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University.
