Tina Payton, MHA, MSN, BSN, RN, NE-BC, is an experienced nursing professional currently serving as the Director of Nursing at Wake County since September 2023. Prior to this role, Tina worked as a Recruitment Specialist at WakeMed from November 2022 to September 2023 and held multiple positions at WakeMed from April 2009 to September 2022, including Clinical Operations Manager for the Imaging services department, Nurse Educator/Supervisor, and Critical Care Clinical Float Nurse. Tina's earlier experience includes serving as an Onsite Initial Review Nurse at BCBSNC and as the Nursing School President at North Carolina Central University. Tina holds a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management and has a Master's degree in Nursing Science from Liberty University, as well as a BSN from North Carolina Central University.
