Matthew Wahl is an experienced professional in the field of astronomy and engineering, currently serving as an Astronomical Observing Assistant at W. M. Keck Observatory since September 2021, where responsibilities include configuring the facility and telescope for scientific observations. Prior to this, Matthew worked at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan for four years as an Observation System Associate, overseeing telescope operations and ensuring safety under challenging conditions. Matthew's background includes roles as a Senior Automation Engineer at Globant, an Infrastructure Engineer at Autodesk, and a Senior Systems Engineer at ITsavvy, as well as research and technical positions during studies at Stony Brook University, where a Master's degree in Astrophysics and a Bachelor's degree in Astronomy and Physics were earned. Matthew possesses extensive technical skills in both observational astronomy and virtual desktop infrastructure management.
