James McDonald has a strong background in security and safety. James has worked at VyStar Credit Union since 2015, holding positions such as Vice President of Corporate Security and Safety, Security Operations Manager, and Corporate Security and Safety Supervisor. During their tenure, they have successfully implemented strategies, improved efficiency, and collaborated with vendors to detect and prevent attacks. Prior to this, they served in the Marine Corps for 20 years as a Master Sergeant, where they established processes and procedures to defend the President of the United States and executed numerous support missions.

James McDonald earned a Master of Science degree in Emergency Services Management from Columbia Southern University. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Human Resources Management and Services from the same university. James also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice and Social Science from Liberty University. In addition to their academic achievements, James McDonald has certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt Certification - Level I from Aveta Business Institute and a Board Certified Protection Professional qualification. James has also completed training as an Incident Command Systems Instructor from the Emergency Management Institute. In 2010, they attended the FBI National Academy.
