Derek Kowalski, PE, is a seasoned professional in civil engineering with a focus on structural emphasis, holding both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Since December 2021, Derek has been serving as the Process Automation Manager and Grating Operations Manager at Vulcraft Verco, a division of Nucor Corp. Prior to this role, Derek held various managerial positions at Nucor Corporation, including Manager of the Nucor Detailing Center, and gained extensive experience in estimating and design supervision at Kirby Building Systems. Earlier career positions included Design Engineer roles at Nucor Detailing Center and Vulcraft-Nebraska.
