Cynthia Kirby-Nelson has an extensive career in safety, health, and environmental management, highlighted by a long tenure at Vulcan Materials Company, where Cynthia served as Director of Safety, Health and Environmental from July 1990 until retirement in 2017. Prior to that role, Cynthia gained experience in industrial hygiene at Texaco for a brief period in 1989. Cynthia earned a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) with a focus on Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, completing the degree between 1988 and 1990.
