Yuye Tang

Technical Lead Application Simulation at Vulcan Forms

Yuye Tang's work experience begins with their current position as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at VulcanForms Inc., starting in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Intelligent Automation, Inc. from 2016 to 2021, first as a Scientist from July 2016 to August 2018, and then as a Senior Scientist from August 2018 to October 2021.

Before their time at Intelligent Automation, Inc., Yuye Tang worked at GE Aviation as a Mechanical Hardware Engineer from March 2014 to July 2016. In this role, they were responsible for stress analysis, product development, and weight and cost reduction initiatives for various engine components.

From November 2010 to March 2014, Yuye Tang worked as an R&D Mechanical Engineer at Schlumberger, where they focused on designing and improving drilling bits. They successfully completed multiple engineering request bit designs and led a project to develop innovative cutting structures for roller cone bits.

Prior to that, Yuye Tang was a Postdoc Associate at the University of Minnesota from July 2008 to November 2010. During this time, they conducted research on corrosion-resistant oxide coatings, collagen structures in bones, and brittle-to-ductile transitions in silicone nanostructures.

Yuye Tang's work experience began with a role as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Columbia University from August 2005 to June 2008. In this position, they conducted research on indentation techniques for testing material fracture toughness, high-frequency vibration of integrated antenna-airframe structures, and nanopore fabrication techniques in amorphous silicone.

Yuye Tang has a strong educational background in engineering and civil engineering. Yuye obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University in 2002, followed by a Master's degree in the same field from the same university in 2004. Yuye further pursued their education at Columbia University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from 2005 to 2008.

Apart from their formal education, Yuye Tang has also obtained several additional certifications. Yuye completed courses such as "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization" and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from Coursera in 2021. In 2020, they completed a course on "Machine Learning" from the same platform. Furthermore, they took a course on "Big Data and Social Analytics" from GetSmarter in 2016. Yuye Tang also participated in programs such as "Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production" from MIT xPRO and the "POST GRADUATE PROGRAM IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING" from Great Learning, although the specific completion dates for these programs are unknown.
