Cayci Yount's work experience begins in 2001 as a Consultant for LogicalApps, where they designed the Java backend for a proprietary application development framework. Cayci then utilized this framework to deliver an integrated enterprise application for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. In 2008, Cayci joined Oracle as a Principal Consultant until 2013. During this time, they held various roles and responsibilities in consulting. In 2015, Cayci became a Convention Chair for Equestria LA for a five-month period. Cayci took on this role again in 2016 and served as the Convention Chair and organizer for a two-year period, managing a team of volunteers and overseeing software development needs for the event. Since 2013, Cayci has been working as a Senior Software Developer for VSolvit, focusing on the Ship Maintenance Data Improvement Initiative project for the Naval Sea Systems Command. Cayci provides data engineering and reporting development using Javascript and Oracle Business Intelligence Dashboard.

Cayci Yount obtained a B.S. in Information and Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering from UC Irvine between 1996 and 2001. In addition to this degree, they also earned a B.A. in Drama with a specialization in Musical Theater from the same institution during the same time period. Cayci Yount also holds several certifications, including Security+ from CompTIA, Secret Security Clearance from the United States Department of Defense (obtained in July 2017), and Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI-OC Project Management Institute Orange County Chapter (obtained in September 2012). It is not specified when or from where they obtained their Public Trust Security Clearance.
