Sean Murphy is an experienced technology leader in the fields of artificial intelligence and computational methods, currently serving as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Vivodyne since July 2024. Previously, Sean held the position of Senior Director of Cloud Architecture at Flagship Pioneering from September 2021 to July 2024. Prior roles include Senior Solutions Architect for Biotech Startups at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Director of Scientific Computing Software at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where Sean also served as Manager of Computational Methods and Principal Software Engineer. Earlier career experience includes a tenure as Senior Software Engineer at the J. Craig Venter Institute. Sean holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience from Yale University.
