Karen Sumie Runde serves as the Senior Director of Academics & Social Enterprise Relations at the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, where responsibilities include directing the Entrepreneur Network and academic programs in collaboration with Santa Clara University. Prior roles at Miller Center include Director of Alumni Programs and Associate Program Director. Additionally, Karen is a Vistage Member and previously held positions such as Senior Program Manager and Program Manager for the Global Social Benefit Institute. Prior experience includes roles at Ariat International as a Production Coordinator, and at the Responsible Sourcing Network as Human Rights Research Manager and Conflict Minerals Intern. Karen also interned with the San Francisco Department of the Environment and the Danish Electricity Savings Trust. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Environmental Studies & Sustainability Science from Lund University, a Master of Science in Technological and Socio-Economic Planning from Roskilde University, and a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
