Sonja Ahrens, MSHE has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of education and financial aid. Sonja started their career in 2000 at Northwood University, where they served as an Admissions Assistant and worked in Financial Aid until 2003. Sonja then joined Kaplan University in 2003 and held various roles including Financial Aid Administrator, Financial Aid Manager, and Associate Director of Financial Aid. During their time at Kaplan, they led multiple project-based teams, resolved past due balances, and received recognition for outstanding leadership and customer service. In 2015, they became the Director of Financial Aid at the Academy of Palm Beach, where they ran all aspects of the financial aid program and ensured compliance with performance audits and Department of Education guidelines. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Student Account Manager at IEC Group of Institutions, where they managed the financial planning, accounting, collections, and student account activities of the campus. Currently, they are working as a Corporate Trainer at Vision Group Holdings.

Sonja Ahrens, MSHE, completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Management/International Business from Northwood University in the years 2000 to 2003. In 2014 to 2015, they pursued their Master of Higher Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Kaplan University. Additionally, they studied Paralegal from 2004 to 2006 at Kaplan University.
