Kern L. currently serves as Crew Manager and Lead Teaching Artist at Arts on the Block since July 2022, while also working as a Substitute Teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools and a Teacher at VisArts since late 2021. Prior experience includes Art Director and Illustrator for the Brown Political Review from August 2020 to May 2021, overseeing multiple editorial teams and conducting workshops on image-making. Kern worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Rhode Island School of Design from September 2018 to February 2021, supporting various classes and managing classroom environments, along with serving as Art Director for the Queer Student Alliance at RISD. Additional experience includes a role as an Educator at Mt. Hope Learning Center in 2019. Kern holds a BFA in Illustration conferred with honors from Rhode Island School of Design (2017-2021) and an International Baccalaureate Certificate from Richard Montgomery High School (2013-2017).
