Simon Baptist serves as the APAC Principal Economist at Visa from March 2024. Previously, Simon held various leadership roles at The Economist Intelligence Unit from December 2012 to February 2024, including Editorial Director and Chief Economist, where responsibilities encompassed leading global intellectual agendas, managing the Corporate Network, and representing leading macroeconomic forecasts. Simon's earlier experience includes positions at Vivid Economics and teaching roles at the University of Georgia and University of Oxford. Simon's academic credentials include a D.Phil. and M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford, as well as a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Economics with honors from the University of Tasmania.
