James Peters

Director Of Business Development at VirTra

James Peters has a diverse work experience in law enforcement and business development. James started their career as a Police Officer at the City of Scottsdale in September 1999 and served until June 2012. In July 2012, they joined VirTra as a Law Enforcement SME/Trainer, where they conducted product demonstrations, collaborated with engineers for product development, and facilitated weapon procurement for customers. In April 2014, they became the Regional Director of International Business Development at VirTra and conducted product demonstrations to international law enforcement and military personnel. James also provided customer training and coordinated international distributors in Europe and Africa. In April 2019, they transitioned to the role of Director of Business Development at VirTra, and their responsibilities in this position are ongoing.

James Peters attended Point Loma Nazarene University from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a focus on Criminal Justice. Prior to that, they studied Sociology at California State University-San Bernardino from 1993 to 1996, although they did not obtain a degree from there.

In addition to their formal education, James has obtained several certifications, including Force Science Analyst from the Force Science Institute in May 2012, Rappel Master from the FBI in July 2010, Dignitary Protection from the Phoenix Police Department in November 2007, Dynamic Simulator Instructor from PPCT in September 2007, Firearms Instructor from Arizona POST in April 2007, Simunition Instructor from Simunition in November 2006, Physical Fitness Instructor from Arizona POS in October 2006, HGN Certified from NHTSA in December 2004, Hostage Negotiations from the FBI in December 2003, Undercover Operations from the Scottsdale Police Department in November 2003, General Instructor from Arizona POST in January 2002, Arizona Peace Officer Certified from the Phoenix Law Enforcement Academy in January 2000, and Swift Water Rescue Technician from Rescue 3 International in May 1996.
