Daniel Simpkins has a varied work experience. Daniel began their career in 2008 as an Assistant Software Developer at OpAns, where they developed a testing framework and provided software development for analytical chemistry software using .NET platform. In 2010, they were an Intern Engineer at ADTRAN, providing software development for Ethernet switches group and developing a DHCP Security implementation to secure switches against unauthorized connections. In 2011, they were an Information Assurance Intern at DISA. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Teaching Assistant at Mississippi State University. Finally, from 2013 to present, they have been a Software Engineer at Virscidian, Inc.

Daniel Simpkins earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Mississippi State University between 2011 and 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University between 2006 and 2011.
