Louise Hamdy is a Senior Research Scientist at Viridien since April 2021, focusing on research and development in geological analysis to advance environmental protection and energy transition initiatives, including projects on microplastic analysis and carbon dioxide removal solutions. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Officer and Assistant at Swansea University, where expertise in carbon dioxide capture from dilute gas sources was developed through the synthesis of cross-linked polymers. Educational foundations include a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath and a Master of Science in Chemistry with Work Placement from the University of Glasgow. Additional experience encompasses a role as a Supply Teaching Assistant at ITN Mark Education and a placement at Sasol Technology (UK) Limited, where cobalt nanoparticle synthesis was explored.
