Michael Shurhay is an experienced professional in public administration and planning, currently serving as an Assistant Planner for the Village of Romeoville since May 2018, where responsibilities include enforcing village code ordinances and acting as a liaison with citizens. Previously, Michael held various roles including Planning Technician and Code Enforcement Officer within the same organization. Additional experience includes serving as a Student Government Advisor at Heartland Community College, overseeing student organizations and promoting civic initiatives, and completing internships focused on community development at both the Village of Romeoville and the Town of Normal, IL. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in History and Political Science from Illinois State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration in Local Government Management from Northern Illinois University.
