Matt Trujillo currently serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Village of Gurnee, a position held since April 2024. Prior experience includes serving as Recreation Supervisor for the Waukegan Park District from September 2022 to April 2024, and Parks and Recreation Manager at the Village of Fox Lake between May 2018 and September 2022. Additional roles include Special Events & Marketing Coordinator at Fox Lake, Uptown Normal Events Assistant Manager and Intern during an internship at the Town of Normal, and Balloon Twister at Funbelievable Balloons, Inc. From January 2017 to January 2018, Matt Trujillo was the Interim Innovation Station Supervisor and Education Assistant at the Children's Discovery Museum in Normal, IL. Early career experience also includes serving as a Summer Camp Counselor with the Gamma Phi Circus and Assistant Director with the Junior Gamma Phi Circus. Matt Trujillo earned a Bachelor's degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from Illinois State University in 2018.
