Derek Peebles is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in various roles within transportation and urban planning. Currently serving as Assistant Village Engineer for the Village of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, since January 2023, Derek previously held the position of Project Manager at Civiltech Engineering, Inc., where significant contributions were made to transportation initiatives and funding efforts with the City of Chicago. Earlier experience includes a diverse tenure at the City of Des Plaines, managing projects related to transportation, stormwater management, and energy efficiency, coupled with roles in transportation planning and civil engineering at organizations such as Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc., Collins Engineers, Inc., and an internship with the City of Seattle. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
