Roeland Weigand's work experience begins in 2008 when they worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Solar Team Twente, where they were responsible for designing, producing, and testing parts of a solar-powered car. Roeland then moved on to Saxion, where they worked on designing a demo setup for the lectorship Sustainable Energy.
In 2010, Roeland joined Suzlon Blade Technology as a Graduation Student in their Materials Technology Department. Roeland then worked for VIRO engineering as a Mechanical Engineer for a period of eight months.
Roeland's career progressed in 2012 when they became a Mechanical Engineer at Parthian Technology B.V. Roeland then joined Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands B.V. as a Graduate Student, focusing on using MSC. Actran to investigate the effects of air layers on the dynamic response of folded solar panels.
In 2015, Roeland became an R&D Engineer at Allseas, where they performed finite element analyses and system engineering for the Jacket Lift System project on the Pioneering Spirit vessel.
Roeland's next career move was to MOCS in 2016, where they worked as a Project Engineer for four years. During this time, they gained experience in project management and engineering.
Roeland's most recent position is with VIKTOR, where they started as a Software Developer in December 2016 and later became a Teamlead Consultancy in January 2022.
