Robert McKay

Head Of New Business Development - Additive Manufacturing And New Technologies at Victrex

Robert McKay has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Robert began their career at GE in 1997, participating in the Leadership Development Program. Robert then worked as an Application Development Engineer at GE Plastics, providing technical marketing and product development support for customers in industries such as power-tools, electrical connectors, consumer products, and consumer electronics.

McKay then took on roles at GE Plastics focused on marketing and market development. As a Market Program Manager, they identified industry and market trends, leading to the development of SABIC's sustainability approach in engineering plastics and product design. Robert later became a Marketing Manager, specializing in Sustainable Polymers, where they conducted customer and market research on sustainability trends and guided product and technology strategy.

Robert continued their sustainability focus at SABIC, where they worked as a Sustainability Manager, responsible for sustainability initiatives from 2010 to 2013. Robert then transitioned to the role of Sustainability Marketing Manager, further driving sustainability practices within the company until 2014.

In 2014, McKay joined Victrex as the Head of New Business Development, specifically focused on Additive Manufacturing and New Technologies.

Alongside their professional career, McKay also served as an 8th Providence BPSA for the Baden-Powell Service Association from 2015 to 2019.

Robert McKay has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Robert also holds an MBA/MSF in Business and Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management, which they completed from 2005 to 2007. Prior to their higher education, Robert attended Galway High School, although no specific dates are provided for this period.
