Jake McGrattan has an extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Jake started their career in 1984 with the Department for Work and Pensions, where they worked as a Finance Manager/Systems Accountant. During their time there, they also trained to become an Internal Auditor and gained experience across the organization. In 1992, they moved to Blackpool and began training to become a CIMA qualified accountant, which they completed four years later.

In 2000, McGrattan joined Siemens IT Solutions and Services UK as a Lead Commercial Manager. In this role, they managed a budget of £56m and was responsible for financial oversight on a multi-million IT infrastructure transformation program. Jake also worked on various projects and programs, successfully implementing IT management systems.

After nine years at Siemens, McGrattan transitioned to the NHS in 2009, where they served as a Performance and Financial Manager for a year. Jake then joined BAE Systems in 2010 as an Audit Manager. During their tenure with BAE, they spent five years in Internal Audit, undertaking complex and technical assurance activities. Jake also served as a Finance Business Partner, leading a team and supporting the senior management team and change program.

McGrattan most recently joined Victrex in 2020 as an Internal Audit Manager and was later promoted to Head of Internal Audit in 2021.

Jake McGrattan completed their education in a chronological order. From 1973 to 1980, they attended Cardinal Wiseman in Coventry. However, no degree or field of study information is available for this period. From 1980 to 1984, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English with French from the University of Sussex. Later, from 1989 to 1991, they pursued a PG Diploma in Management and Internal Audit from City University Business School. In the year 1992 to 1996, they attended the University of Central Lancashire and obtained an ACMA degree in Accountancy. Additionally, Jake McGrattan has also obtained certifications, including "CISA Cert Prep: 1 Auditing Information Systems for IS Auditors" from LinkedIn in July 2023 and "The Courage Habit (getAbstract Summary)" from LinkedIn in July 2021.
