Kim Randell has extensive experience in software engineering and programming. Kim started their career at Oracle in 1996 as a QA Programmer and worked there until 2000. In 2003, they joined Rebellion as a Lead Programmer and held this role until 2006. During this time, they also briefly worked at Gusto Games as a Lead Programmer in 2006. From 2006 until 2013, Kim was a Lead Programmer at Rebellion. In 2013, they joined Vicon as a Senior Software Engineer and is currently working in this role.

Kim Randell obtained an MSci degree in Joint Maths and Computing from Imperial College London. This educational achievement occurred between the years 1998 and 2002.
