Robert Schmidt has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Global Controlling at VIA optronics, where they manage the Global Controlling department and reports directly to the CFO. Their responsibilities include communicating monthly financial results to management, supporting local entities in Asia, and overseeing various areas of controlling such as sales, projects, cost centers, and measurements. Robert also assists with annual closing, manages the Impairment test, and supports quarterly and year-end filings to the capital market.

Prior to their current role, Robert worked as a Senior Group Controller at VIA optronics, where they supported the CFO with earnings calls, management and audit committee meetings, and prepared NYSE filings for the SEC. Robert was responsible for Global Sales Controlling, Cost Center Controlling, and HR Controlling.

Before joining VIA optronics, Robert was a Business Unit Controller at emz - Hanauer GmbH & Co. KGaA from 2016 to 2020. Robert also served as a Controller Asia Pacific at LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co.KG from 2013 to 2016. In addition, they worked as a Performance Controller at Siemens from 2012 to 2013.

Robert started their career as an English Teacher at a Private English School in 2011. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Financial Analyst at Deutsche Bank and as an Administrative Support at Sparkasse.

Prior to these endeavors, they pursued a degree in Chinese Business with a focus on International Chinese Business at the Ocean University of China from 2008 to 2009.
