Johannes Potgieter is a highly skilled electrical engineer with extensive experience in electrical propulsion systems and machine design. Currently serving as a Senior Electrical Propulsion System Engineer at Vertical Aerospace since November 2021, Johannes previously held senior engineering positions at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and Romax Technology. Johannes' expertise includes consultancy and design services for the renewable energy, automotive, and aerospace sectors, supporting major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Prior experience includes working at Dyson as a Senior Motor Drives Engineer and serving as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Oxford, focusing on non-rare earth electric motors for high-performance vehicles. Johannes holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stellenbosch University, where initial research concentrated on wind power generation technologies.
