William R. currently serves as a Senior Scientific Associate at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, having joined the company in June 2017. In this role, William focuses on process development and optimization as a process chemist in the kilo lab, synthesizing raw materials, intermediates, and APIs under cGLP and cGMP conditions to support various clinical studies. Prior to this, William worked as a Chemist at Johnson Matthey Pharma Services from April 2015 to June 2017, concentrating on clinical and commercial production of intermediates and APIs. Earlier experiences include positions as a Peer Advisor and Tutor at Worcester State University, a Summer Intern at the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry, and a Pharmacy Technician at Family Pharmacy. William holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Worcester State University, completed in 2014.
