Hema Lakshminarayanan has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Hema started their career at Siemens in 1995 as a Senior Software Engineer and worked there until 1999. Following that, they joined Sprint as a Consultant from 2000 to 2001. Hema then moved on to Sprint Nextel, where they held the positions of Supervisor of Systems Development from 2002 to 2006 and Project Manager/Program Manager from 2006 to 2010. Hema continued their career at Verisign, first as a Program Manager from 2010 to 2017, then becoming a Director of GRC & Security Analytics from 2017 to the present. In 2019, they were promoted to the position of Senior Director - Governance, Risk & Compliance at Verisign.

Hema Lakshminarayanan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Communication from Government College of Technology, Bharathiar University, which they completed from 1991 to 1995. Hema later pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia, completing it from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, Hema holds several certifications, including a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2020 and a CISSP certification from (ISC)虏 in 2016. Hema also has certifications in PMP and PgMP from the Project Management Institute.
