David Simonsen Paes de Almeida Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience (UX) and game design. David currently works as a User Experience Designer Pleno at Venturus since July 2020. Previously, they worked at Harpia Games Studio where they served as the main Game Designer, responsible for developing game mechanics, level design, and UI. David worked on Unity and was also studying Unreal Engine 5. Before that, they worked at Daitan Group as a User Experience Designer Pleno from November 2017 to July 2020. Their role at Daitan Group involved UX/UI design for web systems and pages, editorial projects, and branding. Prior to joining Daitan Group, they worked at Chuva Inc. as a UX/UI designer, creating mockups using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. David also had an internship at Chuva Inc. as a Web Design Intern from February 2015 to January 2016.

David obtained the following certifications from Udemy in November 2022: "Game Writing: Storytelling through Video Game Design," "Games People Play: Thinking Strategically with Game Theory," "Gamification: Motivation Psychology & The Art of Engagement," "Master Storyboard Skills for Commercials & Video Games," "UX Strategy Fundamentals," and "The Psychology of Games - Secrets of Good Game Design." In October 2022, they obtained the certification "DESIGN RULES: Principles + Practices for Great UI Design" from Udemy.
Furthermore, they attained an EF SET English Certificate with a score of 72/100 (C2 Proficient) from EF Standard English Test (EF SET) in August 2022.
