Cara Janes is an award-winning professional Cellist based in Manchester, England. Cara started playing the cello at the age of 5 and spent 15 years in specialist music education, including studying at the world-famous Chethams’ School of Music and completing their Undergrad and Master’s degree at the Royal Northern College of Music. Cara has toured the UK, USA, Europe, and Australia as a soloist. In addition to their music career, they have worked as a Cello Teacher at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls and as a House Parent at Chetham's School of Music. Cara is also a Co-Founder of The Cello Girls. Currently, Cara is a Team Lead/Principal at Venturi Ltd, where they previously held positions as a Senior Recruitment Consultant and Recruitment Consultant.
Cara Janes studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, where they earned a Bachelor of Music with Honours degree in Music Performance, General from 2012 to 2016. Cara then pursued a Master's degree in Music Performance, General from 2016 to 2018 at the same institution. Prior to their time at the Royal Northern College of Music, Cara Janes attended Chetham's School of Music from 2002 to 2012.
