Dr. Juan Manuel Santos currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer at the Ventura County Office of Education since January 2022. Additionally, Dr. Santos holds roles as the President Elect and Director of the CALSA Mentoring Program at the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators, focusing on enhancing Latino student achievement and bridging achievement gaps. Previous experience includes the position of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources at Lawndale Elementary School District and a long tenure as an Educator and Director of Student Support Services in the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Dr. Santos has also contributed to higher education as an Adjunct Professor in Teacher Education at the University of La Verne. Dr. Santos earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from California Lutheran University, along with a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Pupil Personnel Services and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Political Science, and Ethnic Studies from the same institution.
