Akinyemi Solanke

Managing Director & Creative Lead at Vensy

Akinyemi Solanke has a diverse work experience in the media and entertainment industry. Akinyemi currently holds the position of Managing Director & Creative Lead at Vensy. In this role, they oversee the company's operations and leads creative initiatives.

Prior to this, Solanke worked at AccelerateTV as the Project Lead for Accelerate Plus. Akinyemi was responsible for leading the technical setup, operations, team setup, content production and acquisition, marketing/PR, strategy, and partnerships for the flagship OTT/SVOD platform. Akinyemi successfully launched Accelerate Plus in May 2022.

Solanke also worked at Universal Music Group as the Marketing, Digital & Sales Manager. In this role, they developed and managed the digital strategy for the company's brands and artists. Akinyemi established partnerships with key external partners and facilitated relationships with digital service providers.

Before that, Solanke served as the Marketing and Digital Media Manager at Viacom International Media Networks. Akinyemi was responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for Pay TV channels such as MTV Base, Nickolodeon, BET, and Comedy Central. Akinyemi also built relationships with talents, brands, and institutions.

Additionally, Solanke worked at MultiChoice as a Marketing & Events Executive. Akinyemi was in charge of digital communications for M-Net and Africa Magic channels in West Africa. Akinyemi led initiatives such as channel launches, rebranding, award ceremonies, and community engagement.

Solanke's earlier work experience includes roles such as Concept/Studio Manager at Bit Bender Entertainment and Director of Programs/Producer at Zoodrums Radio.

Akinyemi Solanke completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Lagos between 2003 and 2007. Akinyemi then pursued a Masters degree in Multi-Media Journalism from Bournemouth University, which they completed between 2009 and 2010.
