James Cummings is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Vaxart, with a background as the President of ICON Government and Public Health Solutions. Prior to that, James held the position of Vice President, Clinical Development and Translational Medicine at NOVAVAX INC. Before their roles in the private sector, James worked in various leadership positions in the US Army and at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. James holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Georgetown University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, Pre-Med from the University of Scranton.
