René Bethmann is an experienced professional in sustainable business practices, currently serving as a Consultant at the VAUDE Academy and Senior Innovation Manager at VAUDE since January 2013. René's responsibilities include driving sustainable material engagement, developing the Green Shape System, and implementing novel biobased products. Notable achievements include the development of a comprehensive Material Policy, initiatives to reduce fossil fuel dependency, and introducing recycling technologies into the textile value chain. Previously, René held leadership roles in materials and testing coordination at Norrøna Sport AS and worked as an R&D Engineer at ASSOS of Switzerland GmbH. René holds a degree in Textile & Clothing Engineering from Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, earned in 2007.
