Vance Robinson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Vance started their career at IBM in 1999 as an Educational Software Tester. In 2001, they joined Purdue University Dept. Mechanical Engineering as a Graduate Research Assistant. Vance then moved to GE Global Research in 2005, where they worked as a Staff Scientist for 12 years. In 2017, Vance joined Varex Imaging Corporation as an R&D Engineer, and later progressed to become an Engineering Team Lead, responsible for manufacturing distributed source x-ray tubes. Currently, they hold the position of Manager, Multi-Beam X-ray Sources Team at Varex Imaging Corporation.
Vance Robinson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Nanoscale Engineering, which they obtained from SUNY Polytechnic Institute during the period from 2008 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University from 2002 to 2005. Their undergraduate education was completed at Brigham Young University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1998 to 2002.
Vance Robinson has also obtained a certification in TRIZ level 3 from the International TRIZ Association in June 2015.
