Tom Hind has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Tom started their career as a Welder at Slipen Mekaniske Verksted AS and Hamy Sveis AS, where they performed various welding tasks on pipes and structures. Tom then worked as a Welder at OIS Contracting AS, specializing in different welding techniques and materials.
Tom then transitioned into an Engineer role at Aibel, where they gained experience in engineering projects. Tom then joined Det Norske Veritas as a Senior Engineer, focusing on Welding & Material Technology. In this role, they were involved in pipeline projects and the recertification of well control equipment.
In 2011, Tom moved to Statoil ASA as a Senior Engineer before joining Subsea 7 as a Senior Welding & Materials Engineer. At Subsea 7, they played a pivotal role in the Statoil Mariner Project, overseeing the subcontract package and ensuring the technical requirements were met. Tom also served as the technical link between subcontractors, supply chain, project team, and the company's engineering function.
Afterward, Tom worked at Randbaberg Industries as a Senior Project Engineer/Welding Engineer IWE. Tom then joined Omega Subsea - UK & Norway as a Senior Materials & Welding Engineer, where they contributed their expertise until 2019.
Tom's most recent experience is as Lead Materials Engineer at VÃ¥r Energi, where they are currently employed.

From 2003 to 2006, Tom Hind attended the University of Stavanger, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
In 2009, Tom Hind enrolled at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and completed an International Welding Engineer program, obtaining a degree in IWE.
