Bjørn Nysted has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles in the oil and gas industry. Bjørn began their career at Firetech AS, where they worked as an Operation Manager, responsible for designing and producing fire-fighting equipment for offshore clients. After three years, they joined Safetec Nordic AS as a Safety Engineer, specializing in firewater design and general safety engineering for projects. Bjørn then moved on to Statoil, where they worked as an HSE&Q Management & Technical Safety professional, managing project scopes, bid evaluations, and vendor follow-ups. Nysted also held positions at Shell, serving as a Project Manager and Delivery Lead for various projects, including the Draugen Topside and the Subsea Compression Test Site. Bjørn later joined Eni Norge AS as a Facilities Manager, overseeing the Goliat Topside Modifications and Onshore offloading facilities in the Goliat Gas Export Project. Nysted also has experience as a Consultant HSE and Technical Safety at Proactima and as the Head of the Fire Prevention Department at Eigersund Fire & Rescue Services. Currently, they are working at Vår Energi as the VP HSSE Projects & Operations. Throughout their career, Nysted has demonstrated expertise in HSSE, technical safety, project management, and team leadership.

Bjørn Nysted obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Safety Engineering from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Bjørn attended the university from 1994 to 1997.
