Diederik Vermeulen has extensive work experience in the hotel industry, having held various managerial positions at different locations of Van der Valk Hotels. Diederik started their career in 2001 as a Manager at the Reservations Centre of Van der Valk Hotels. In 2004, they became the Manager of Sales & Marketing at Van der Valk Hotel Vianen, where they contributed to the hotel's sales and marketing strategies until 2010. From 2010 to 2012, they served as the General Manager of Van der Valk Hotel Harderwijk. In 2012, they joined Van der Valk Hotel Dordrecht as the Manager of Rooms Division, overseeing the operations of the hotel's rooms division until 2020. Currently, they are working as the Head of Sales & Revenue at Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam-Zuidas.

Diederik Vermeulen's education journey began in 1980 when they attended CS Vincent van Gogh. Diederik completed their VWO degree at this institution in 1986. Later, from 1986 to 1991, they pursued their passion for Social Science at Utrecht University.
