Michael Kan has an extensive background in metallurgy and technology, currently serving as the Director of Technology and Performance at Vallourec Group since February 2006, where previous roles included Director of Steelmaking Process Technology and Manager of Operations Technology. Prior to Vallourec, Michael Kan worked at Gerdau Long Steel North America from September 1994 to February 2006, holding positions such as Six Sigma Black Belt and Melt Shop Process Metallurgist. Michael Kan began their career as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at NTNU from January 1992 to December 1993. Educationally, Michael Kan obtained a Ph.D. in Ferrous Metallurgy and a Master's Degree in Iron-and Steelmaking from the National University of Science and Technology "MISIS," where a second Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering was also earned.
