Sanjay Bhatt is a healthcare leader currently serving as Chief Medical Officer at Valley Health Plan since November 2024. Prior to this role, Sanjay held positions at Alameda Health System as a Physician and at Alameda Alliance for Health as Senior Medical Director, focusing on quality improvement and population health for 300,000 members. Sanjay also participated in the CHCF Health Care Leadership Fellowship, enhancing leadership capabilities within California’s healthcare landscape. Previous experience includes attending physician roles in emergency medicine at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital and the University of Southern California, along with establishing the EQuIPS program as a Fulbright Scholar. Sanjay’s education includes an MBA with a focus on Medical Management, a Master of Science in Public Health, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois Chicago.
