Shakanna Muruganandan has a diverse range of work experience. Shakanna is currently employed at Vaccitech as a CMC Analytical Scientist since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Vaccitech as a Quality Control Scientist from November 2019 to July 2022. Before joining Vaccitech, Shakanna worked at Oxford BioMedica as a Research Scientist from November 2017 to November 2019. Shakanna also gained experience as a Research Assistant at UCL from October 2016 to October 2017, where they were responsible for microbiological and molecular techniques involved in a specific project. Shakanna has customer service experience as a Sales Assistant at ACCESSORIZE from June 2014 to April 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Healthcare Assistant at Golden Age Health Care from November 2014 to July 2015, and as an Assistant Teacher at Mother Nature Science from January 2014 to December 2014. Overall, Shakanna's work experience spans various fields including scientific research, analytical science, customer service, healthcare, and teaching.

Shakanna Muruganandan completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Roehampton from 2012 to 2015. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Neuroscience in Neurodegeneration at King's College London from 2015 to 2016.
