Miek Peeters is a Belgian lawyer and civil servant. Miek is currently the Director at UZ Leuven, and has previously worked as an Internal Market Affairs Officer at the EFTA Surveillance Authority, Staff member legal and European affairs at Zorgnet-Icuro, and Advisor European (legal) affairs at the Cabinet of Flemish Minister of Welfare, Public Health and Family.

Miek Peeters has a law degree from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and has been a researcher at the university, publishing and guest teaching on the influence of EU law on health systems.

Miek Peeters studied law at KU Leuven and then completed a European Master in Social Security, Health Policy and Management at the same school. Miek then did an Erasmus exchange at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, Italy.
