Katrien Lagrou is the current director at UZ Leuven. Katrien previously worked at KU Leuven from January 2012 to December 2016, where they were a member of the board of faculty of medicine. Prior to that, they worked at UZ Leuven and Belgian Society of Human and Animal Mycology, where they were the president from January 2000 to December 2022.

Katrien Lagrou has a master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from KU Leuven. Katrien also has a PhD in medical microbiology and bacteriology from KU Leuven. Lastly, they have a master's degree in laboratory medicine from KU Leuven.
