Francisco Garcia

Francisco Garcia, Ed.D., serves as the Director of the Center for Online Learning and Teaching Technology at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley since January 2015, focusing on enhancing educational access and quality through innovative distance education frameworks. Additionally, Francisco Garcia is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Master of Education in Educational Technology Online Program, teaching various courses about instructional technology and student-centered learning. Previously, Francisco Garcia held the position of Distance Education Manager at the University of Texas at Brownsville, overseeing online learning initiatives from 1996 to 2015, and also worked in various technical and instructional roles, including as a Network and System Specialist for the Brownsville Independent School District. Francisco Garcia holds a Doctor of Education in Educational/Instructional Technology from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Master’s degree in the same field from the University of Texas at Brownsville.
