Anna Satcher Johnson is a seasoned epidemiologist with extensive experience in public health, currently serving as the Team Lead and Supervisory Epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since March 2003. In this role, Anna leads the Data Analysis and Dissemination Team within the HIV Case Surveillance Branch of the Division of HIV Prevention. Prior positions at the CDC include Senior Epidemiologist and Epidemiologist, focusing on reporting, analysis, and evaluation in HIV incidence and case surveillance. Anna also holds the rank of Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, assigned to the CDC, and previously worked as an epidemiologist with the Michigan Department of Community Health. Anna earned a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Georgia.
