Joanne G. is a seasoned professional in social impact and strategic consultancy, currently serving as the Director of Social Impact at USA for UNHCR since February 2022. With experience as Managing Director at Track Two Media Labs, Joanne led initiatives aimed at fostering social change and enhancing quality of life. Previous roles include strategist for the Obama Foundation Scholars Program at the Harris School of Public Policy and mentor for the United Nations Association of the USA, where guidance was provided to align professional development with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Joanne also contributed significantly as Board Chair at My New Red Shoes, overseeing governance and strategic direction. Other notable experiences include writing for Thrive Global and founding Penelope Poet, LLC, a social enterprise. Joanne holds a BA in Organizational Communications from California State University, Stanislaus, and further education from Sonoma State University and the University of California, Riverside.
