Amanda Michel is a skilled life scientist currently employed at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since December 2024. Prior to this role, Amanda held multiple positions at HydroGeoLogic, Inc. from August 2020 to November 2024, including Scientist III, Associate Environmental Scientist, and Assistant Environmental Scientist. Amanda's experience also includes working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Aquatic Entomology Lab at Brown Lab, Virginia Tech, from January 2019 to August 2020, and interning at Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. in the summer of 2019. Amanda began their professional journey as a Facility Attendant at Stafford Parks and Recreation from August 2015 to August 2016. Amanda earned a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from The Johns Hopkins University in May 2024 and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech in 2020.
