Bill worked for the City and County of San Francisco for over 28 years in a wide range of disciplines. He has served for more than ten years as the Chief Administrative Officer/City Administrator for San Francisco by three different Mayors. In addition to his administrative role, he was on the Planning Commission for twelve years and served on San Francisco’s first Commission on the Environment.
In addition to his public service, Bill worked for FMC Corporation and Allied Chemical Company. He has been fortunate to have served on the Bay Area Economic Institute Board and the San Francisco Visitor and Convention Bureau, now San Francisco Travel.
Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Toxicology from the University of San Francisco.
