Jere Salminen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of biochemicals and engineering. Currently serving as Project Manager for the Wood to Sugar process at UPM Biochemicals GmbH since September 2010, Jere has been instrumental in implementing wood to biochemicals production mills and developing innovative technologies within the sector. Prior roles at UPM include Project Manager and Development Engineer, focusing on biochemicals technology and product development. Jere's career began with Lappeenranta University of Technology, contributing to research projects and completing a Master's thesis on composite factory business concepts. Strong foundational experience was gained through multiple summer trainee positions at UPM and Neste Oil in production and maintenance roles. Jere holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in mechanical wood processing technology from LUT University.
