Emanuela Rizzo is a seasoned professional in international development and child protection, currently serving as a Program Support Officer with UNRWA since June 2022. Prior experience includes holding the position of Programme Development and Quality Director at Save the Children International, where leadership involved overseeing a large team to enhance child rights programming in the country office. Emanuela's earlier roles include Global Protection Adviser at HelpAge International, where significant contributions were made to protect the rights of older individuals, and Emergency Programme Manager for HelpAge in the Syria response. Additional experience includes strategic and operational roles with the Somali Relief and Development Forum, Terre des Hommes Italia, and INTERSOS, showcasing expertise in program development, management, advocacy, and quality implementation across complex humanitarian contexts. Emanuela holds an International Relations degree from Università degli Studi di Genova and additional qualifications from ISPI School.
