Artina Tyus is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching mathematics and special education across various educational settings. Currently serving as a Math Teacher at University Prep Schools since August 2018, Artina creates and implements culturally relevant, differentiated lesson plans while fostering a positive classroom environment. Previous roles include teaching positions at Detroit Public Schools Community District and Choice Schools, where Artina successfully engaged students and exceeded growth expectations. With a strong foundation in special education acquired through experiences at District of Columbia Public Schools and Options Public Charter School, Artina has a proven track record of developing individualized education programs and promoting family involvement in the learning process. Artina holds a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, a Master's in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University.
